Friday Feeling - Sarpa Salpa 'Stick To What You Know'

This weeks Friday Feeling is going to get your pulse racing if pop/electro/indie crossovers are your kinda jam. 'Stick To What You Know' is the new single from Sarpa Salpa, who's last single 'Forwards Backwards', was 'Tune of the Week’ on Radio 1's Jack Saunders Indie show.

They've achieved without a record label, no press agent, no booking agent and no touring, proving you can be a DIY success! Stick To What You Know' is all about defying the pressure to follow the traditional musical career path.

I love the way it starts with a vocal that's slightly understate, and despite taking about 37 seconds to get going it builds into a really great song. The chorus is a real ear worm and during the second verse the song really comes into its own - you'll find yourself singing along after a few listens.

“It’s about finding something that you love and pursing it with everything you’ve got. There is a lot of pressure in society to find a job, settle down then rinse and repeat. This track is about not settling for that 9-5 a job you hate for the rest of your life. Something that’s proved more than testing for everyone in 2020," said frontman Marcus Marooth

I've been told that the band have used lockdown to write some of their best music yet, which once recorded in the studio will join “Stick To What You Know” and “Forwards Backwards” on their sophomore EP due for release in early 2021.

One word to sum this album up - Bouncy!
