This weeks belated Friday Feeling (bloody Windows updates) features London's euphoric dream fuzzy pop trio Animal Breakdown and their brand spanking new single 'Almost Lost’.
Whether it was the sea air (the track was recorded during a weekend retreat to Brighton); working with audio engineer Wynter Prior (AudioBeach Studios) or the fact that this was their third release of 2020 - this track delivers way more reverb than we're used to hearing from the guys with a bass line you could charge Mordor with!
I love how despite the heavy, fuzzy almost psychedelic grunge feel of the instruments that the dreamy vocals are on a completely different level.
It's not a marriage of styles you would normally put together as with an instrumental like this you'd expect a growl but no there's a beautiful softness to the vocal and the lyrics are so heartfelt:
Just stay
Just kiss me
Put your hands on me
It’s real
I know
It’s purity
I know that we’re the same
Summing this track up in one word - impassioned!
