Single review: We The North - She's A Dream

Updated: Jun 24, 2020

Northern and proud of their heritage, We The North, have been playing the bars and pubs of Bury and Bolton and just before lockdown were starting to make an impression on Manchester's music scene. They released their new single 'She's A Dream' on 12th June.

Their Debut E.P. 'Who Decides Fate' has some bangers on it and on my first listen, I reached out the lads to see if I could help promote their new single. 'She's a Dream', also sees the band welcome their new drummer Ryan Corcoran

The song comes in at just over two minutes and is a strong rock and roll song about a one night stand. It's over as quickly as it starts and it definitely leaves you wanting more - maybe that's their intention? It sounds like a song that you'd sing for fun and is a far move from their previous songs.

"This new single is here to show that even with all the madness going on in the world we are still here, creating and releasing music we love. Music that is loud, emotional and honest - that's integral. Honesty in our music is something we stand for. We hope you all love it as much as we have loved playing it", said Joshua Owens-Tomlinson We The North frontman before its release.

For me I think the band have hit something different with this release - as a band when you're playing and growing together you start to evolve in playing and writing. 'She's A Dream' sees We The North heading in a different, and I think they've hit something a bit special.

Manchester's rock scene is going through something of a renaissance and if We The North are going to be a part of its rebirth, that can only be a good thing.
