Single review The Vitrines with Diamonds in Her Eyes

Yesterday saw Southampton duo The Vitrines being forward the release of a new track Diamond in Her Eyes which is their fourth offering.

The release was a last minute decision by the band, but following on from support and plays from Steve Lamacq Radio 6 and BBC Radio Solent Introducing; the duo have decided to release a single from their recording sessions a few months ago due to the current climate. The band has also been backed by Spotify's Editorial team currently featuring on The Punk List alongside Idles and Fontaines DC.

But back to the single - On first hearing I was blown away for starters that these guys are a two piece. The track is simply scintillating. Rock and Roll is definitely not dead because these lads pick up from where the greats of the sixties and seventies left the genre and have dragged into the sound of 2020.

Thrashing guitar riffs, pounding drums and a great bridge make this track the perfect antidote to the times we're currently in. I can see me dancing to this in a field, beer in hand shades on and singing along. It definitely has one of those vibes.

If you're a fan of bands such as Primal Scream or newer bands like Reytons, Voodoos, King Willow, K's or Saytr Play you're going to love their no nonsense, good times and great vibes sound.

The Vitrines are one of those bands who you need to be getting excited about, because if this single is anything to go by then the future is very bright for these lads.
