Single Review: Tay Temple 'Train'

It's a few weeks shy of a year since Tay Temple released her debut single 'Millennials' and since then we all know the kind of year we've had.

Her third single 'Train' was released today and has a very different vibe. Lyrically she shares the solitude she felt when first moving away from home to purse her music career in Manchester. If ever there was a feeling we can relate to in February 2020 it's solitude. Tay wants to normalise the anxiety that comes with change and loneliness especially within these isolating times and with this song I think she's done just that.

Her voice has definitely grown since her debut single and the production on this track is beautiful. She's come a long way in a short period and she's only going to get better. “Train really showcases how terrifying moving away to Manchester at 16 was for me and how the constant traveling back and forth made me feel isolated with no real ‘home’. Although I’ve grown to love the city and the amazing people I’ve met I still get homesick and ‘Train’ is a message to those you love that you will see each other again no matter how long it takes", Tay said about the track.

Tay is starting to establish herself as a serious singer songwriter in the folk scene and if she keeps writing songs like this, it won't be long before everyone else catches on to how talented this lady is.

Summing this song up in one word - moving
