Album of the Week: Skinner Brothers - EP 'Culture Non-Stop'

Do you remember the last time you listened to a record and it made you smile? You couldn't help but grin at how fucking brilliant it was... it reminded you why you bloody love music?

Well for the second week in a row Dreaminisfree's Album of the Week is an EP but to be quite frank, when you discover a collection of tracks as good as The Skinner Brothers latest EP 'Culture Non-Stop' then it would a travesty not to cover it.

'Culture Non-Stop' is the The Skinner Brothers second EP for 2021 following May's blistering 'Iconic' (you need to give it a listen) and despite rocking in at just under eleven minutes, it's pure gold.

Starting with the explosive title track 'Culture Non-Stop' boasting gargantuan raw garage riffs, and a beat that hooks you from the get go. Lyrically it's brilliant but what makes this track stand out is frontman Zac Skinner's vocal. He reminds me a lot of Ian Dury and for me that's a compliment. Second track 'Told You So' has a real summer anthem vibe to it and I can imagine the crowd going fucking mental when this one plays out. 'Jericho Star' has a real ska vibe to it and 'Mountain High' is as the name implies, gritty, gnarly and at times so intense it's going to blow your mind!

If you only listen to one new music recommendation this week, then you'd be pushed hard to find a better collection of tracks. Every single listen leaves you yearning to get back into the mosh pit again. Make no mistake these lads are at the start of what promises to be a stellar career!

Summing this EP up in one word - Knockout!
